Ride-In Results!

There were two lucky winners of the Ride-In Show, with two £25 cash prizes and commemorate etched glass tumblers awarded at the popular Romney Marsh classic motorcycle event at Hamstreet, Kent on Sunday 15 September. Best Classic Motorcycle was won by Peter Sparrowhawk (Kent) with his 1965 Norton ES400. An unusual machine, this model was the first Norton to be fitted with an electric start, and was made for the American market where it was marketed as the Electra. Peter is pictured receiving his award from scout master Gavin Strachan, of 6th Hastings Scouts with his some of his car-parking team.

Best Post-Classic Motorcycle went to Jamie Donaldson of East Sussex, with his 1974 Benelli 650cc twin Tornado S2. A rare Italian machine, 3000 were built in total from 1971 to 1975. Aimed at the American market, only 12 Tornados were officially imported into the UK. Jamie is pictured receiving his prize from the event organiser Julie Diplock.

We're back at Romney Marsh next year, on Sunday 29 June 2025.
